Elizabeth Salaam is a San Diego-based writer and artist whose practice involves assemblage, 3D collage, and performance. The strong narrative elements in Elizabeth’s work are largely drawn from her own life and explore broader themes of cultural isolation, identity, erasure, vulnerability, and mental health. In her current “Boxes” series, Elizabeth uses photos, common household objects, and text to tell stories and create intimate emotional experiences inside wooden and cardboard boxes.
